Returning from a long break from blogging...

Javan and Tobi Mesa are an inseparable pair. They do everything together. I will do my best to get some pictures posted on here ASAP. Javan is now in third grade but really struggling with math, reading and writing. It is suspected that he has Dyslexia in addition to his other issues. He will be tested in the near future to verify the dyslexia. Although he has a terrible time with reading, writing and math, he still likes school. I am very thankful for that. Having Tobi Mesa always with him has really increased his self confidence and they are best friends. Thank you for all of your continued prayers. Life can be rough on a day to day basis, but God is in control and it is all good.

What happened to February?

Here it is March the 5th and I have no idea what happened to February. The Chapmans leave this Saturday to go to Ohio for training to bring home Hannah's dog. He is a beautiful Golden Retriever. We are so excited for them.
Javan and Tobi Mesa are doing great. Tobi Mesa has fit right in to the routine here. She goes absolutely everywhere with Javan. Although Javan still does not like school this year, Tobi has made it much better. From school to the store to gymnastics meets to church, Tobi Mesa just takes it all in stride. She is very calm and just does her job. Javan is just a little bit smitten with her as the following pictures will attest.
Well the server keeps getting errors, so I will try to download pictures later. Sorry.

February already!

WOW time passes in a hurry! Javan and Tobi are doing great. Javan gets more attached to her daily. She goes absolutely everywhere with him. She even goes to equestrian therapy with him, but she does sit in the car with me, the horses are not real sure what to think about her yet! But they do end the session with a little Tobi Mesa therapy.

School is going great. Everyone is in love with her, but the children all seem to understand she is working and they don't bother her during the day. If it has been a very good day for all, then they get to pet her goodbye in the afternoon. Everyone loves that, especially Tobi Mesa! When I take them in first thing in the morning, she either goes in her kennel or to her place. It is her choice, usually. Her kennel is right behind Javan's desk and I think she feels a little better there until all the children get in and get to their places. Probably safer for her tail! The rooms are carpeted so she does not like her mat, she just has her place on the floor. It has been an experience for evreyone, but all in all I think it is working out well.

We are having a 'Doggie Shower' for Hannah Chapman this Saturday to help them get the supplies and donations they need to travel to Ohio in March to get Hannah's dog. Javan and Tobi are looking forward to being star attractions, they are both such social butterflies!....All I have to do is figure out a way to keep them form eating the cake before we get there! Hopefully I will have pictures from the shower to share with all. We are very excited that Hannah will be getting her best friend in March. We can hardly wait to meet him/her. It is almost as exciting as our meeting Tobi. So we are looking forward to Sat. and the party!!

I will update again when I get to it. Seems like there is not as much time as there use to be. Can't imagine why that would be.

God bless you all and keep you in His loving care.

Getting into the routine.

As you can see, Tobi Mesa went to the groomers. After all the hair was removed we had to take about two inches out of her vest so it would stay on her. But she is so much nicer now. And we are not spending hours trying to get the matting out of her hair. Javan ask specifically for the red bows, but then he wouldn't leave them in, lol. So they only stayed for a few hours.
Things are going pretty good around here. Tobi is attending shcool in the afternoons for the month of January. She will start full days on Feb. 2nd. I think she and Javan both count the minutes until lunch time and she can go to school. She has her place right beside Javan's desk. So far she is getting good behavior marks...hope Javan's marks all go to good, also! We are still working on behavior modifications. That will take a while, but there are already definite differences in Javan. And his most repeated phrase is 'I love you, Tobi Mesa. You are my best friend.' So the bonding is definitely taking hold!
Tobi goes absolutely everywhere with us and we have had no problems. A few McDondald's have told us we can't bring her in, but once informed of the laws they are veyr friendly about her being there. Most places just welcome us all with open arms. And of course Javan asks everyone "Do you want to see my dog?" Tobi just preens! So our two social butterflies get along well together.
It has been a very interesting month and a very good one.
We pray everyone reading this is having a wonderful start to 2009 that just continues to get better and better.
God bless you all.

We are home!

What an experience! It was hard work and worth it all. We left 4Paws a a little after five on Friday and drove to Indianoplis and spent the night. Judy had an early morning flight back to Anchorage. She was such a blessing to us in Ohio. we could not have managed without her help. Thanks, Jude! Love you!
We met up with Julia at the hotel in Indy and she, Javan, Tobi and I left out around ten Saturday morning to drive home. Julia did the majority of the driving and we drove straight through. Depending on which time zone you were using, we got home around two or three Sunday morning. We arrived home on TX time which was two, but we were all still on Eastern time which was three!
Tobi Mesa is a perfect traveler! No a complaint of any kind from or about her! We could easily forget she was in the car.
We are all pretty wiped out today, but I am sure by afternoon we will have our energy back, (well some of it, maybe). Javan already seems to be in full swing! LOL
These are Sunday morning pictures.

Javan and Tobi on the first morning home. Grandpa had the tree up and decorated and we thougth it was beautiful! Tobi really likes the ornaments, took a few "No's" to not like them so much!

Javan, Amber and Tobi. Today is Amber's birthday and she came by to see us this morning. She is coming back after lunch.

Amber really loves my Tobi Mesa. I think Tobi really loves her, too!

Graduation....Yeah!

We made it. Here are some pictures from today. This is Tobi Mesa's foster family. They came to graduation and also brought us a book of pictures taken when she lived with them.

Javan and Tobi in their mortar boards.

Jeremy, Javan, Jennifer, and Tobi Mesa after graduation.
Jeremy and Jennifer are the trainers. They are wonderful.

It is late and tomorrow starts early so I am going to wind things down.

Thanks for the prayers and good wishes.
